The reporter learned from the Organizing Committee of The second China International Consumer Products Expo on July 6 that since the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) came into effect on January 1 this year, RCEP regional cooperation has continued to deepen. Many of its members will show up at The second China International Consumer Products Expo from July 26 to July 30.

On the basis of the successful holding of the first consumer expo, the organizing committee of the second consumer expo has formulated a global exhibition plan, and actively invited relevant institutions and enterprises of RCEP member countries to participate in the expo. As of now, among RCEP member countries, the exhibition area of Japanese brands will increase from 2,000 square meters in the first session to more than 3,000 square meters, Korean brands will exhibit an area of nearly 400 square meters, Singapore 187 square meters, Thailand 495 square meters, Indonesia 315 square meters, Malaysia 270 square meters, Vietnam 174 square meters, and Australia 733 square meters.

In terms of exhibits, some RCEP member countries mainly exhibit food, bird's nests, and other healthcare products. Japan's new head cosmetics brand KOSE, the world's largest fishing gear manufacturer DAIWA and other categories, Vietnam's exhibiting products include dairy products, chocolate, coffee, and other consumer products, and those of Thailand include spa products, hairdressing products, and fragrance products.

It is known that Hainan has given full play to the role of the Consumer Expo as a platform providing services for enterprises. It actively facilitated coordination with RCEP exhibitors, introduced relevant policies of Hainan Free Trade Port, expanded trade and investment, and promotion for RCEP countries. In addition, by leveraging the regulations governing Hainan Free Trade Port and RCEP policies, the city better promotes foreign trade, two-way investment, and technical exchanges with RCEP countries, and facilitates more RCEP member companies established in Hainan Free Trade Port. With RCEP policies and the impacts of the first Consumer Expo, Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) will coordinate Japanese boutique enterprises to actively explore the development opportunities of the Hainan Free Trade Port. Besides fragrance products, food and alcoholic products will be added to the exhibition. It will also hold highlight activities such as Japanese cultural performances and live broadcasts. In the future, Jetro will sometimes hold business and cultural exchange activities such as "Japan Cross-Border Commodities Exchange" and "Japan Festival" in duty-free shops or popular business districts on the outlying islands of Hainan.
